About the Coordinator, Mr. Rodriguez '09

Mr. Rodriguez is a proud graduate of our campus. He graduated with highest honors from our school in 2009 where he was a Culinary Arts Magnet Student, Colonel of Pantherettes Dance/Drill Team, and National Honor Society Officer. He took advantage of the many Advanced Placement courses offered at the time and earned college credit before going onto study Sociology, Dance, and Inequality Studies at Cornell University in New York. At Cornell, he held numerous student leadership roles including Co-Chair of CU Increasing Multicultural Admissions & Gains in Enrollment (CU IMAGE) and four-year Captain of SABOR Latino.

After graduating from Cornell in 2013, Mr. Rodriguez taught English Language Arts/Reading at Hamilton Middle School (2014-2020), which happened to be his own former middle school! At Hamilton MS, he established the Sapphires Dance Team, and was Teacher of the Year 2018-2019. He then became an English and Dance Teacher here at Northside HS where he earned Teacher of the Year 2020-2021.

Now, he is our Magnet Coordinator and strives to make sure our programs shine for prospective students and families. At NHS, he also assists with campus instruction, organizes school events, and directs Pantherettes. As a NHS/JDHS alumnus, he is excited to share all of the great things available at Northside HS.
